Congratulations card – by a deserving designer!

We’e got some fabby news that we thought you’d like to hear.

Papercraft inspirations designer Jo Kill herself deserves a special ‘congratulations’ card right now, as she’s entered a global card making competition ‘Gallery Idol’ and has made it through the audition stages! Jo entered the Gallery Idol competition run by Papercrafts magazine in the US – it’s a competition based on the format of US TV show American Idol (like our X-Factor or Pop Idol). The card makers who make it through the initial selection process then go onto compete by designing projects for weekly rounds which are voted on by the admiring fans. That’s you and me! Here’s the card that Jo made for her entry to the competition, and which was selected in the 'audition' process as one of the 20 finalists. From a grand total of 1671 cards entered, that’s what we call really good going! Huge congrats for Jo!!!

Stay tuned for more on Jo’s progress through the competition – click here to see her card for the first round of the contest. The theme for this one was to make a card with DIY embellishments, and we think Jo’s excelled herself. Her attention to detail is jaw-dropping! Time to head on over to the Gallery Idol homepage to register, view all the cards, and then you can vote for your favourite in each round. Voting for round one ends this Thursday (it’s a fast-paced contest) ready for results to be announced and those who are going through to next week's stage to make their card for round 2. So come on... get voting and don't forget to leave Jo your best wishes while you're there. We know she'd love to hear that Papercraft inspirations fans are behind her. Let’s help make Jo the champion!
