We've already started working on our Christmas issues and we don't want to keep it all the early festive excitement to ourselves. It's never too early to start making your Christmas cards, so why not get in the mood by crafting this cool candy cane bonus card and get ahead of the game? For the Christmas bonus card you will need:
Your basic card kit, plus…
✿ Pink square scalloped card blank
✿ White, pink & teal card
✿ Thin pink decorative ribbon
✿ Blue and white gel pens
✿ Fine black felt-tip pen
✿ Red & white corrugated craft card
Step 1
Layer up the card front with pieces of card graduating in size. Start with white, then pink, then teal.
Step 2
Go around the edge of the pink square making a wavy line in blue gel pen, then a dashed line in white gel pen.
Step 3
To make the candy cane, cut out the basic shape from a piece of card. Cut strips from the corrugated craft card, leaving about 2 ridges in each one. Apply some PVA glue to the card candy cane and attach the corrugated card in strips, alternating between red and white.
Step 4
When the glue is dry, use the back of the candy cane as a guide to trim away the excess corrugated card. Attach the candy cane to the card front with sticky foam pads to finish.
